Our shop is located in the fish cellars in Port Isaac, just next to the harbour. The Brown family have been cooking shellfish here for over 25 years. The shop is now in the hands of Tom Brown and partner Laura Sloan, having been handed down through the generations.

Tom takes our boat ‘Maverick’ out daily from Port Isaac and has worked in the fishing industry all his life. Tom literally lives and breaths fishing and is his happiest when he is out at sea! Tom is also a keen member of Port Isaac RNLI and enjoys supporting the local community. He has put his extensive knowledge of the surrounding coast to good use by being one of the first to help when people are in trouble at sea. In his spare time Tom is a keen Motocross rider and loves nothing more than racing every Sunday throughout the summer.

Tom and his father Jeremy have been referred to in ‘Sea salt and Solitude’ by Chris Hewitt and Deborah Richards and ‘Captains Dinner’ by Paul Pfuger which both give an insight into their lives as fishermen and their lives out at sea, definitely worth a read! Jeremy, Toms father is also a proud member of Port Isaacs Fisherman’s Friends who have gone from singing locally in the pub to nationwide touring and even had a film made about them in 2018 which shows the story of how the band became what they are today.

Toms partner, Laura, is originally from Surrey, having moved down here in between ski seasons to work for Nathan Outlaw at his restaurant ‘The Fish Kitchen’ in Port Isaac village. Laura has a background in hospitality, having studied hospitality management at Bournemouth University followed by managing a variety of venues from nightclubs in London to bars and restaurants in France! Laura is also a member of Port Isaac RNLI, this time on the committee side, getting more involved with events and fundraisings which she really enjoys. When Laura isn’t at the shop she’s looking after hers and Toms son Harold (Named after Toms grandad!) who was born in 2018 and is likely to be the next generation of fisherman for the family – he already loves the boat!
